Stu and I were able to take a little mini vacation this past weekend. We had wanted to go somewhere warm but we were a little late on getting things planned and it just didn't work out. So instead we took a little road trip to the Smoky Mountains. We stayed in a nice cabin which the website made it sound like it was very secluded but it turns out the next cabin was just as close as our neighbors here!! We hiked on Friday and Saturday in the Smoky Mountains which was very enjoyable. We were reading through some of the info about the trails and it said "bear sighting is not unusual." Then there is a picture of a huge big black bear...Stu picked up some rocks and carried them just in case we happened to see any! The only song that kept running through my head was the Andrew Peterson's song "Bears!" Our hike on Saturday was to one of the waterfalls...it was very pretty but there were lots of people that also wanted to see one of the waterfalls. And then it started raining and getting chilly on the hike back. The weather was pretty gloomy but it was amazing to see the mountains -how the fog comes and goes so quickly. It was so good to get away with just Stu and spend some time together. We got back home on Sunday evening and then my parents brought the kids back...thanks mom! It's always so great to see my kiddos after we've been away for a while. They always seem more grown up! Here are some pictures of the trip.

So fun! I'm so glad you guys got to have some time out. =o)
I can see why no Bears came close to you. Stu looks absolutely terrifying with those 2 little rocks in his hands. :)
